Art is fun when you learn to combine different materials to create original work.  By mixing a variety of media and processes, artists can express themselves in ways that would not be possible with a singular approach.  For example, an artist can take a photograph and then paint over part of it to create something new. 

In this class students will be encouraged to mix and match!  They might  use some of the following in their art: watercolor or tempera paint, colored pencils, markers, crayons, oil pastels, fabric, newspaper, buttons, and yarn to create new and innivative pieces! 

All materials provided including a snack.

Aug 4-7    1:00-3:00

This class will focus on a creating a variety of marionette puppets.  The class will make at least three marionettes and learn how to manipulate them. 

First, they will make a simple marionette, either a cat or a dog.  Then, the class will create a clown marionette and practice how to animate it. Finally, the kids will make an animal or person of their choosing.  

Using paper mache they will shape a head and then, create the body using a variety of materials.
