Come create a trio of colorful long lasting polymer clay Easter eggs.

Join instructor Susan Thiel and learn how to create the egg and decorate it using mini cutters to create geometric patterns, animals, a spring flower garden, a cute monster, or a character of your choice. This is a great opportunity to create something together with friends and family!

Thirty minutes are needed at the end of class to bake your creation so they may not be ready to be picked up until 1 pm. All materials are provided.

Come create a personalized cross using polymer clay.

Join instructor Susan Thiel to learn how to work with polymer clay to create a mosaic piece that will be glued onto a wooden base.

This is a great opportunity to create something together with friends and family! These make great gifts for confirmation, weddings, and more.

Love to doodle, but wish you could really draw something? If you've always wanted to learn to draw, to improve your beginner skills, or if you are just looking for something fun to do over winter, this class is for you! The time is set to allow you to get your driveway clean and then come on into town to join local artist, teacher, author and illustrator Sherry Graziano for six classes to learn the basics of drawing! 

As an experienced teacher, Sherry will make the class comfortable for all experience levels of students. Especially those who are just starting out! Don't worry if you haven't had lessons before or if you have just a little exposure to drawing basics.

Over the course of six class periods, Sherry will guide each registrant to understand and practice the basics of drawing. This experience will give you the knowledge of how get that image on a paper!

Lesson focus:

  • Week One - Supplies and Marking Marks
  • Week Two - Shapes
  • Week Three - Values
  • Week Four - Shading
  • Week Five - Texture
  • Week Six - Perspective

Materials  (Supplied.  But you may want to bring your own.)

About the Instructor

Local artist and resident, Sherry Graziano graduated from Central Michigan University. She has experience teaching children and adults in  Grayling, Roscommon, and St. Helen public school and at the Saginaw tribal college.

Sherry has served the community for many years and was the program director for the Devereaux Memorial Crawford County Library. Sherry was published in "60 Quick Knits" and worked with Bambi Mansfield as illustrater on her book, "Through the Eyes of a Child."  She loves animals and has many hobbies, including knitting!

Students should have some experience on the potter’s wheel. Jan will meet with each student and devise a plan for individualized instruction. This could include refining throwing skills, slip trailing, tool instruction, carving and glazing techniques.

KIDS CLUB: T-Shirt Painting for 9-13yo

WHAT: MAKE YOUR MARK AND STEP INTO YOUR ARTISTIC SPACE! You will create your own shirt that scream with color, bold messy lines, splashes and drips!

WHEN: SATURDAY, April 11, 2026 (10:00 AM – 12:30 PM)

THE MISSION:

  • Design Your Shirt with color and designs of your own choice.
  • The Stencil Lab – Instructions given for how to make stencils to make your designs repeatable. And, you'll have rubber stamps and pre-made stencils available for you to use.
  • Wear Your ART – We will paint your T-shirts with permanent, hi-vibe acrylics.
  • All materials will be provided except the T-SHIRT.

NEED TO KNOW INTEL:

  • BYO-SHIRT – Artists are responsible for bringing their own 100% COTTON T-SHIRT, New or Used (white, pale, light colors work best – no black).
  • THE ARTIST'S DUTY: Part of being a pro is the “studio sweep” – a;; students are responsible for helping to clean up their stations.
  • CLASS ENDS AT 12:30 PM. Pick up is 12:30 – 1:00 PM, at which time the classroom shuts down for the day.
  • WELCOME LETTER with further information and instructions regarding laundering your painted shirt will be sent upon your registration.

Introduction to the Potter's Wheel

Class Description: 

Interested in a relaxed crash course on using a potter's wheel? This course is for you! In this two and a half hour session, students will learn the basics of working with clay on a potter's wheel and receive guided hands-on experience from an instructor.

Each student leaves the class with two handmade creations. Students in the class can expect to:

-Learn Mud Room basics including emergency procedures, room rules, and clean up expectations

-Learn to prepare clay for the wheel

-Watch a wheel throwing demo with guided discussion of the steps 

-Spend time practicing basic wheel throwing techniques

-Have fun!

Registration includes all supplies and materials, wheel time, a glaze day, and two firings in the kiln.
