Kandinsky is best known for his work called “Squares with Concentric Circles”.
February is a great month for using the heart shape to explore creativity. This class will create using Kaninsky's model, but using the heart shape. After finishing their first piece, the class will further explore shapes and colors while listening to classical music.

If Picasso Painted a Snowman - 6-13yo
with Valerie Whaley
Ages: 6 - 13
Meet The Masters Series: Overview
6-13 years old
Feb. 21
12:30-2:30pm
Class size: 8
Meet a Masters - Overview
If Picasso Painted a Snowman by Amy Newbold (illustrated by Greg Newbold) is a children's book that reimagines a snowman in the styles of 17 famous artists, from Picasso and Van Gogh to Pollock and O'Keeffe. The book starts with a traditional snowman and then shows how various artists would have painted it.
Join teacher Val Whaley to learn about some of the 17 famous artists in the book. Students will use their own creativity to draw a sketch of a snowman. Then, after learning how some "master artists" would have changed a picture, they will transform their piece to reflect the "style" of one of the MASTER ARTISTS they learned about. Using a variety of art supplies they will complete a picture showing a snowman, or two, in the style(s) of MASTER ARTISTS.
Be sure to wear play clothing, it could get messy.
Snacks and drinks provided.
