Fostering Creative Art Making with the Young Artist

Supplies: Materials will be provided by the instructor. Cost of materials is included in the class fee.
Chidren will use crayola crayons, 90# weight paper, various paints. It would be wise to wear clothing that is suitable for play and messy activities. To protect clothing you may wish to bring a small kitchen size clean trash bag (as the bag can have a large opening cut into it and then slide the bag over the head of a child; it will rest onto their shoulders and cover their clothes which may be more protective than an apron would be.
Class Notes: Students require an adult present throughout the class for ages 2-7. Ages 8-10 a ratio of one adult per 3 registrants is acceptable.
Class Description:
Your instructor for this class has a multitude of experiences and years working with the very youngest of artists; ages 1 and up! Linda fully understands the developental stages that all children exerience as they first start to make marks on a surface.
She has designed this class so that adults can work more knowledgeably with their young artist (ages 2-10); All children will need an adult helper present in the entirety of the class. She will inlude even one year olds with the understanding that the youngest age may be unable to last the duration of the class. This will be an action packed class children creating drawings and paintings that can be saved in a scrapbook, journal, or framed for display.
Parents/Caregivers will learn how to prepare and provide a creative experience in a safe and encouraging manner. Parents will receive 3 handouts that describe developmental guides for ideas to use when working with children.
This class is designed to assure that every adult who wishes to help a developing young child grow in their creative endeavors will be able to provide appropriate guidance in future art making activities.

Your emerging artist will experiment with making marks and imagery in a variety of ways and with several materials By the end of class a parent/grandparent/ guardian adult will be able to select one or more images to potentially frame and hang as a reminder of the days' enjoyable activities.

Note: An EarlyBird Promo code of $10 for all registrants who sign up for earlly class registration by/on the end of day of Ocotober 5th. Thus the class cost is reduced to $35 if you use the promo code when do register and you enter the EarlyBird Promo Code. After the end of the day Oct 5th the class cost is $45. You may only use ONE promo code when you do register so apply the EaryBird Promo code if you are registering early.
