Christmas Candle Holder Using Polymer Clay Applique on Glass

Join teacher and artist Susan Thiel to create a personalized candleholder using polymer clay. Students will use polymer clay to create a winter wooded scene, a Christmas collage, or recreate their home or cabin and mount it on a class candle holder. The options are endless!

Please note:

• The shorter candleholders can be baked during class and taken home the same day.
• The tall candleholders will need to be taken home for baking, so they will not be available for pick up until the next day. 

Class is open to Adults and Children 8+ years old (Younger allowed if accompanied by an adult or older sibling for assistance.) This is a great opportunity to create with friends and family.

Each person making a candle needs to register, please so we can have your supplies and materials ready to you!

Class Description: 

Join experienced stoneware teacher Emily Millard for a morning of fun in the Mud Room! Register your 11+ year old and feel free to come along and be Makers together!

Emily will guide your child (or children!) as they make some truly keepsake ornaments out of stoneware clay. Children 10 years old and younger need to be accompanied with a parent.

Many stamps and cutouts will be available for use and directions will be given. No prior experience with clay necessary.

The first portion of class will consist of making the ornaments out of clay, and the second portion will be painting the ornaments with underglaze. 

After class, the instructor will then bisque fire the ornaments, put a clear glaze over the underglaze, and then fire the ornaments again.

The ornaments should be ready 5-10 days after the class depending on studio workload.
