The class will focuse on making beautiful, handmade creations to keep, to gift, or just because!

WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL EXPERIENCE:

This class gives your child a chance to experience a variety of techniques to put together multiple pieces. The projects will integrate the Great Lakes and art styles of native peoples from around the world. Possible options for projects that registrants may choose include:

  1. Bead peoples "Beaples"
  2. Backpack clip
  3. Memory wire bracelet (stackable)
  4. Beaded tassel key ring, luggage or zipper decoration

Bottle Fairy House- A Friends & Family Class

$65

with Susan Thiel

Calendar Jul 19, 2026 at 9 am

When: Sunday July 19

9 am – 3:30 pm  Pick up "baked" project Monday July 20 or the next week.

Ages: 12+ years (younger allowed if accompanied by an adult or older sibling)

Cost: $65 per Fairy House which includes up to two people creating each house.  Please just use one name to register.

Class size: Max is 8 registrations (1 registration can cover 2 people working together to make one house).

Join artist Susan Thiel to create your own fairy house using polymer clay and a recycled bottle. This project is time intensive, so it can be created by two family members or friends working together on one house such as a grandma & grandchild, mother & daughter, brother & sister or other combinations. This is a great opportunity to create something together with family and friends.

Experienced clayers will be able to finish the house solo by end of the class.

All materials will be provided, including a selection of bottles students can choose from. Fairy lights will be provided at the end of class and can be inserted inside of the house. Students are also welcome to bring their own bottle to cover if they wish.

Due to the size of the finished house, Susan will need to take the fairy houses home to bake. So students will need to pick up completed fairy houses starting the next day.  Note, once baked, these fairy houses are weatherproof and make a great addition to the outdoor garden.

This is a full day class from 9 am – 3:30 pm, with a half hour lunch break. It is recommended participants bring a lunch.

A refund minus the processing fees is issued if registration is canceled more than seven days before the class begins. No refunds after that time. Full refunds if AAV cancels the class at any time.
