January 11, 18, 25 from 9:30-11:30am MUD ROOM
Being able to paint a convincing tree is essential to every landscape and wildlife painting. Painting a convincing tree is challenging, especially a winter tree with bare branches. The class will work from photographs.
The first session we will paint a couple of studies of values, edges and color, then do some drawing exercises and finish the session with a block-in. We will get the image mostly painted in the second session and complete the highlights and accents in the third week.
This painting will be done with a limited pallet using only Orange, Ultramarine Blue and white.
Registrants should bring the colors mentioned above, as well as a canvas to paint on. At least a 16x20, preferably a 20x24. In addition, please bring painting knives and a couple of brushes. The small brush should be a #2 filbert or flat, and the larger should be a #8 or #10.
This class is open to all ages. It is open at all stages of learning art - beginner to experienced. Registrants only need to be able to remain engaged for the full class period.
