Bring lunch or plan on eating at one of ourlocal restaurants. We will take a lunch break while the kiln is heating up.

Class Description:

Take your glazing to a whole new level of creativity. Raku glazing is unique of itself, butthe process can be pushed beyond simply coloring ceramic pottery. By using wax orhorsehair or adding design or airbrush highlights the process can take on a uniquenessof it own. I will have examples and photos to stimulate your imagination.

Once the workhas been glazed, you can participate in the firing process. Bring with you two pieces that you’d like to glaze. These should be bisque fired, but if the piece is bone dry, it can be glazed in the greenware stage. If you are firing a coffee mug and want it food safe, then you must, before bringing it to class, glaze and fire the inside with a high-fire glaze leaving the outside of the mug for the Raku process.
