Watercolor Floral Art

with Ruth Forman

Recreate beautiful Michigan Fall flowers into a watercolor masterpiece with the help of an award winning experienced artist. Enjoy a three-hour class to get started with this media and to learn the fundamentals of watercolor painting using a loose, abstract style. Students will become familiar with the entire painting process, exploring techniques, and mixing colors, while getting lots of individual attention. This class will be a great opportunity to gain quality insights into the beautiful world of watercolor art, and launch you onto your own painting path successfully. 

The instructor, Ruth Forman, is a Costa Rica born-American artist who has been teaching for over a decade. She has exhibited and won awards world-wide and is a member of many watercolor societies. Some of her works can be seen at “Ruth Forman Watercolors” on FaceBook.

Students need to bring your own supplies.

Mrs. Forman recommends:  

Watercolor paper: 140 lb. cold pressed. 11x15”

Watercolor pigments: Alizarin crimson, Cadmium red, Yellow ochre, Permanent yellow, Burnt sienna, Ultramarine blue, Cerulean blue, Olive green, Titanium white 

Brushes: Round brush #8t, Flat brush 3/4”, Liner brush 1

Watercolor palette 

Container for water

Pencil 2B

Kneaded eraser


Spray bottle 



Additional Notes:

Safety First.  Artisan Village instructors will set up following social distancing guidelines in each of our classes.  The instructor will wear a face shield or a mask at all times.  We value our registrant's and our instructor's health and will sanitize before and after all events.  Please bring your mask to wear.
